In elementary, we focus on the character traits of God and how to apply them to our lives.

IIn preschool, we started by teaching children that God made and loves them and Jesus wants to be their friend forever. In elementary, your child takes the next step by learning what it means to trust God no matter what. They will start to discover who God is and His character through learning biblical truth each week. Our vision is that by the end of 5th grade, your child with have context for God’s big story of the bible.

Life Change

Children learn that the character matters to God. As children in Elementary learn about the character of God, they come to expect that He can be trusted. In turn, it teaches them how to apply this to and respond to the world around them.

Community

As children are placed into small groups, they begin to see how relationships are an essential part of growth. They also realize that there are other adults around them that can be trusted. DV also provide service opportunities in order for children is impact those around them in a tangible way.

Service

Children take a next step in what it means to serve, often in the family and home. While younger children are introduced in concept to what it means to serve, the elementary children are encouraged to participate with their families in the church wide mission and service projects. In DV, we also allows kids to reach kids with specific mission opportunities.

Curriculum and 3 Basic Truths

In Elementary, your child will learn to apply three main truths
  • I can trust God no matter what.
  • I need to treat others the way I want to be treated.
  • I need to make the wise choice.

Structure

large groups/small groups

Designed to help your child understand how the day’s virtue, bible story and bottom line applies to them. They will discuss real life experiences, interact with a close-knit group of peers, and participate in a variety of activities that appeal to different learning styles. In order for small group leader to develop a relationship with the children in their group, we ask that you make it a priority to consistently attend the same service each week.

Child Dedication: Child Dedication is a special service where parents of young child commit to raising their kids in the way of Jesus. This service takes place several times a year and is the Milestone event for Nursery-Preschool. This is a significant moment in the life of a family when faith is shared between parent and child.
