Bible Story: Matthew 6:1-4. During this part of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus explains that when we serve, He says to give to others in secret.
Bottom Line: Serve others without looking for applause. When you decide to give in secret, the act of service becomes totally about the other person and not about you! That’s the best kind of service.
Key Question: What would happen if you never got credit for serving? Simply doing the act of service can be enough! In fact, it’s perhaps even better if no one knows what or why we served in the first place.
Extra Memory Verse: “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:18 NIV
