Bible Story: We’re kicking the month off in James 1:17a. Jesus’ brother, James, shares a bit of wisdom that reminds us how everything that’s good comes from God. It’s true! Everything good in our lives is because of God. And the best gift that God gives is Jesus. Because of what Jesus did for us, we can show God’s goodness to others.

Bottom Line: Show God’s goodness to others. When we understand that God has been so good to us, we can’t help but show goodness to others. From being kind to helping others, we hope kids come up with some great ideas to point others to Jesus with their actions.

Key Question: How can you show God’s goodness to others? As we start small group with this question, we hope that kids can begin to take ownership of what they can do to make an impact in someone’s life. From friends to family to neighbors, we pray they can point others to Jesus through the way they help others.

Extra Memory Verse: “Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the person who goes to him for safety.” Psalm 34:8, NIrV

GodTime cards are available each month and are a tool to assist parents as they help their child have “God Time” each week. Here’s how: There are four different devotions on each GodTime card. Each one is designed to be done on a different day. Click HERE to see this month’s GodTime card!

A Widget is a cool, concrete, take-home item for families to use. This item is given to elementary students each month.  It will aid in reminding them what is taught in DV on the weekend and assist in the retention of the Bible lessons as kids grow in Christ. Click HERE to see July’s Widget!
