In Elementary this week, students are reminded to accept others and show God’s love to everyone!

The Story

This week, our elementary kids will learn from one of Paul’s writings. In Romans 15:7, Paul writes, “Christ has accepted you, so accept one another in order to bring praise to God.”  We see this played out perfectly through Paul and Barnabus.  Paul had a terrible reputation, one that was well deserved.  But, after his encounter with Jesus, Paul changed.  Barnabus believed that about Paul, accepted him, and stood up for him as he introduced Paul to the rest of the Apostles.

Bottom Line: Friends accept one another. As kids are just getting back to school, it’s good to remember and to help out kids realize that regardless of how people dress, what they own, or are able to do, we are called to accept them and show them how much God loves them with our friendship.

This Month’s Memory Verse

Be sure to check out this month’s memory verse!  Get started now in helping your child learn the verse and have them say it for their small group leader on the weekend.

GodTime Card:

GodTime cards are available each month and are a tool to assist parents as they help their child have “God Time” each week. Here’s how:  There are four different devotions on each GodTime card. Each one is designed to be done on a different day.  Each devotion includes:

1. A verse(s) to read.

2. A devotion paragraph that teaches something about God and an explanation of that day’s verse(s).3.  An activity that makes real-life application of the day’s devotion.  4.  A suggested prayer.  This is similar to BTW for adults, but for your kids!  We hope you’ll carve out time each week assisting your child in their spiritual walk. Music:

Do you know what songs your kids are singing this month? Click below to listen or purchase the music your child will be singing this month.

Widget:

A Widget is a cool, concrete, take-home item for families to use. This item is given to elementary students each month.  It will aid in reminding them what is taught in DV on the weekend and assist in the retention of the Bible lessons as kids grow in Christ. This month we are focusing on Friendship, and our widget is a fun key chain to attach to their backpack as a reminder to be a friend to others every day.
