Preschool

Parent Connect | June 11, 2017

Parents, Have you noticed how much fun your preschooler has each weekend in DV?  I would encourage you to see this first hand.  You can sign up to help in your child’s classroom for a few weekends and share this experience together.  Be sure to stop by the DV Welcome Centers and ask for information this weekend.

The Story

Samuel   1 Samuel 2: 1-10, 19

The boy Samuel learns to listen when God speaks to him.

Parents,  Your preschooler is listening. At age four they are saying over 1000 words (but who’s really counting). They are building a vocabulary from what they hear. At this stage preschoolers are able to pick up on how we feel, what different sounds mean, (examples: fire engines and ice cream trucks), and are able to retell stories. Summer is a great time to grab a blanket and sit together on the lawn reading stories.  I would encourage a Bible story each week. Be sure to give your child a chance rock it and retell the story or discuss it together.  Enjoy!
