Summer mornings are a great time to cuddle with your preschooler.  It’s time to be personal.  Read a Bible story and/or pray together.  They will begin to love this time with you and look forward to it.  Happy Summer Mornings!

 The Story

David & Goliath   1 Samuel 17:1-50

The young boy, David, volunteers to battle Goliath and defeats him with a sling and five smooth stones.  Kids Rock!

vs. 48 As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him. vs. 49 Reaching into his shepherd’s bag and taking out a stone, he hurled it with his sling and hit the Philistine in the forehead. Goliath stumbled and fell down on the ground.

David did it! He knocked the giant down! He won! A KID took down a giant! Your child can do big brave things too, because God made him and God is always with us. Your child most definitely ROCKS!

Take time to praise your kids this week for how awesome they are, especially when they do brave things.

This Month’s Memory Verse

Bible Memory Verse With Motions:

God made us to do good works. Ephesians 2:10

God made (point both hands up) us to do (point to others and yourself) good works (thumbs up), Ephesians 2:10. (Open your hands like a book.)

Parents of 4 and 5-year-olds:  Your child will have the opportunity to say the memory verse for their leader and receive a small reward.  Be sure to practice while you’re swimming or on a hike.
