Parents,  This weekend is Memorial Day. Many of us have family and friends who have passed on and are remembered on this special day. My prayer for you is to enjoy your special family time together this weekend.  It’s important to celebrate our loved ones and each other.

The Story

Daniel and the Lions      Daniel 6:1-23

God protects Daniel when he is thrown into a den of lions.

Preschoolers really enjoy this Bible story. I’m not sure if it’s the amazement or how cool it is that Daniel trusted God and not even a scratch was found on him.

vs. 22 My God sent his angel to shut the lion’s mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight. And I have not wronged you, Your Majesty. vs. 23 the king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him, for he had trusted God.

Praying was the main theme in the story. Daniel trusted God by praying even when the king said not to.  Take some time this week praying together with your child. Your prayer may include thanking God, asking for his help or telling Him nice things. It’s important for your child to understand they can pray to God anywhere and anytime.
